What is Psychotherapy?
It’s a collaborative process between a client and a therapist that uses interpersonal relationship and communication skills. In a safe environment, the client is able to share, explore, learn, and make appropriate lifestyle changes by becoming emotionally, psychologically, and socially stable.
What is consult?
Consult is a short-term interaction between a client and a therapist to resolve an existing challenging situation or crisis at home or at work. The client is typically functioning well on a daily basis but needs support and neutral perspective, provided in a safe and confidential manner, to explore possible solutions. Depending on the needs of the client, the consults usually take place two to six times.
What are workshops?
My workshops are a series of group meetings that are designed to explore challenges the participants may be facing and then identify appropriate solutions by partaking in discussions and activities. The workshops are based on specific subjects or as requested by the participants. I use evidence-based techniques and skills from Psychology, Neuroscience, and Yoga Philosophy to enable the participants to gain a better understanding of their personal and professional lives and how to control them. What is meditation?
Meditation is the ability to self-reflect in a silent environment and later have ongoing inner dialogue. Instead of looking for answers outside of ourselves or from others, we look inside. Meditation helps us to have self-awareness and know the appropriateness of our desires, our strengths, and our weaknesses. It leads to self-growth by healing from the inside out, and it helps us become the best version of ourselves. It gives us natural energy to be more tolerant, and to face with dignity conflicts and problems like anxiety, stress, loss, depression, isolation, and conflict. It ultimately empowers us to become internally stable to the point that no outside force can affect our spirit.
What is mindfulness?
To quote Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, it is “paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally, to the unfolding of experience moment to moment.”
Do you work with individuals, couples, and organizations?
Yes, I work with individuals and couples. I also run workshops for organizations and individuals. Contact me to schedule a consult or a workshop. For the past 10 years, I have been conducting workshops and presenting to various organizations such as schools, mental healthcare agencies, non-profits, and family caregiver groups.
What is your experience?
I am a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
I served as a Senior Clinician at Rutgers – UBHC Partial Hospital in Piscataway, NJ, until January 2015. In the past decade, I have counseled hundreds of individuals and couples, and I have conducted more than 2,000 group workshops. I currently counsel my clients at three locations in New Jersey.
I am on the advisory boards of multiple non-profit organizations that support and raise awareness about mental health. As an active volunteer in the mental health community, I have counseled people, facilitated support groups, participated in health fairs, and conducted workshops.
After spending more than four decades on Earth, I know and have met many great minds from different cultures and in different countries. After recovering from multiple setbacks, closely observing, analyzing and reflecting on almost every experience since childhood, I believe I have gained wisdom and knowledge about human consciousness levels, connections, emotions, aspirations, and behaviors. To me, our world appears as a huge laboratory in which many great minds interact every single second. I am an active participant and a keen observer of the interactions, which provides me precious life experiences. I believe the combination of my formal training and life experiences have been exceptionally educational, humbling, and inspiring.
